I recently moved into my first apartment and that first night, just as I was about to start settling in for the evening, really getting excited about watching a movie on my laptop, sitting on my brand new futon that was going to double as my bed for the foreseeable future, I realized that I was hungry. Yes, I was hungry. Only there was a huge problem. I had completely failed to stock my kitchen. With anything. I mean beyond food. It wouldn’t have even mattered if every shelf in my fridge and every single cupboard were stuffed by the very same people who stock the Master Chef Pantry. I didn’t have a single thing to cook my food with. And I didn’t have a single thing to eat with. Therein lay my dilemma.
My eyes were suddenly opened to how I needed a dishware set, but not just any dishware set, I needed a low price dishware set. After splurging on some BA bean bag chairs I couldn’t really afford to go all out on fine china and whatnot. Where would someone find a low price dishware set? Thankfully, my local department store was well equipped, even in the middle of the night. As a matter of fact, there was no shortage of bargain prices. Apparently I wasn’t the only one with school loans and a Starbucks addiction. This was going to be easy, I thought to myself. The Fantastic Mister Fox was on pause back at my new place, and I was itching to get back to it. I made it out of there in record time.
Finally, I walked back through my new home-sweet-home and promptly preheated the brand-new-to-me oven. As a pizza browned and bubbled I began looking through my recent purchases. Apparently I had forgotten one thing: the low price dishware set.
